I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer with Mets to lungs and lymph nodes in February 2025 — 10 yrs after my initial diagnosis of DCIS – stage 0. I think one of the hardest things about living with MBC is I look healthy. I haven’t lost my hair and don’t look sick. Because of this people don’t realize how sick I am and are quick to forget I am managing side effects, every-single-day. The emotional struggles are difficult to navigate on top of the physical challenges. The other challenge is most people don’t understand that you’re not going to get better. I’m often asked when I will be done with treatment, which is a reminder of the scary reality of living with a terminal disease.
