The elephant in the room is only awkward, because everyone is trying so desperately to ignore it. We need to talk about it. We live in a time where MBC isn’t necessarily a death sentence anymore, but there is still no cure. MBC is often overlooked by the breast cancer community, because we’re the part they don’t want to think about. The part where the time they have left is borrowed. I’m doing relatively well considering my diagnosis, but I’ll remain on my treatments for the rest of my life. Treatments that have horrible side effects like heart failure. MBC needs more. More representation, and more research for a cure.
