Black Wo(Men) Speak: Speaker Series

The Black Wo(Men) Speak series aims to amplify the efforts and voice of patient-led Alliance member initiatives focused on Black communities. In addition to a jointly hosted webinar focused on access to palliative care, the series will include the virtual panel discussion “Amplifying the Conversation on Improving Access to Clinical Trials.”

The panel discussion provides an update on initiatives presented at the Black Wo(Men) Speak Symposium, held in conjuction with SABCS 2022. The symposium brought together over 200 participants with five partners to share patient-led research related to clinical trials, including the Alliance’s own BECOME project. We aim to amplify the ongoing conversation between participants to address identified next steps including improved patient education, training healthcare providers on effective patient communication, and helping patients find and access clinical trials.
