A Final Message from Laurie Campbell, Outgoing Executive Director

Dear Alliance Members, Partners and Supporters,

I am incredibly proud of all we have accomplished together since I became Executive Director of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance seven years ago. With your partnership and unwavering support, we launched numerous successful initiatives and not only survived but thrived during the pandemic, while providing much needed support for the MBC community. Under my leadership, the Alliance’s funding and membership have more than doubled, and our organization is positioned to make an even greater impact to transform and improve the lives of people living with MBC.

As shared at our all-member meeting at SABCS last month, I am retiring to start a new chapter focused on travel, health and becoming a full-time caregiver for my mother. I am pleased to pass the baton to Medha Deoras-Sutliff as the new Executive Director of the Alliance. Medha brings strong leadership skills, commitment and knowledge of both our organization and the MBC community to this role. I am confident in her ability to lead the Alliance going forward, along with our new Chair Margaret Flowers and our new Vice Chair Stephanie Walker.

Medha and I have worked closely together this month to ensure a smooth transition, with a shared focus on amplifying the work of every member and setting the Alliance up for continued success in the coming year. In 2025, the Alliance will add staff to work on member engagement and project management, continuing to strengthen our support team. I will continue to be an ally behind the scenes, and look forward to witnessing the transformative impact of your collaborative work in the years ahead.

I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities I’ve had in serving as the Alliance’s Executive Director, and the many lessons learned and friendships made within this extraordinary, talented and passionate advocacy community. Thank you for your support of me, the MBC Alliance, and the entire metastatic breast cancer community.

With warmest wishes for continued success,

LAURIE CAMPBELL
