Barriers in laboratory and translational research are slowing down progress in developing curative treatments for metastatic breast cancer. These include lack of access to metastatic breast cancer tissue to study for most scientists, and standardization of lab models of metastatic breast cancer between labs and universities. On Jan 31-Feb 1, 2016, more than 55 key opinion leaders met in Dallas, TX to identify ways the Alliance can facilitate progress in research.
